Curated this season
The house, this autumn.
Five ways into the season. Each one made in the same cloth, on the same palette, by the same hands.
Designed to be worn across worlds.
Most wardrobes are split down the middle. One side is for the office and the weekend. The other is for weddings, festivals and family, and it only comes out a few times a year.
SHALINE is built on the idea that both sides belong to the same woman. So we design our Western, fusion and ethnic pieces in one room, on one palette, in the same cloth. A blazer sits as easily over a kurta as it does over a slip dress.
Western
For the working week.
Tailoring, easy dresses and trousers that carry you from the desk to dinner.
Fusion
Our signature.
Indian silhouettes cut with a Western hand. Pieces that belong to no single occasion.
Ethnic
Rooted in craft.
Couture and occasion wear made with weavers and embroiderers we know by name.
Western
Tailored for the city.
Sharp shoulders, fluid trousers and dresses that move. Cut in merino, linen and silk, in a palette of kohl, slate and ivory that goes with everything you already own.
Shop WesternFusion
Where the kurta meets the blazer.
A kurta cut like a shirt dress. A lehenga worn with a tailored jacket. A co-ord set in chanderi. These are the pieces the house is known for, and the reason we make all three worlds under one roof.
Shop FusionEthnic
Heritage, cut for now.
Anarkalis, lehenga sets and saris made with mills and weavers we work with season after season. Zari and hand embroidery where it matters. Clean lines everywhere else.
Shop EthnicThe bridal atelier
Made for the day, and every day after.
A SHALINE bride is dressed for the wedding, the mehendi, the reception and the years that follow. We cut the lehenga, and we cut the jacket you will wear over it long after.
The house edit
The pieces the house keeps re-cutting.
The couture process
Four steps to a piece that is yours.
Every SHALINE piece can be made to your measurements. For bridal and occasion wear, this is how it happens.
- I.
Consultation
In the studio or on a video call. We talk through the occasion, the cloth, the colours you already love and the ones you have never tried.
- II.
Measurements
Taken by our pattern cutter, in person or guided over video. We keep them on file, so every future piece fits from the first try.
- III.
Design and fitting
Sketches, cloth swatches and a first toile. One fitting for tailoring, two for bridal, and adjustments until it sits exactly right.
- IV.
Delivery
Finished by hand, pressed, boxed and delivered to your door, with care notes and a note from whoever made it.
The atelier
Made in small batches, by a small house.
- Cloth
- Linen, chanderi, mulberry silk and merino, sourced from mills and handloom weavers across India. Nothing we would not wear ourselves.
- Runs
- Every style is made in runs of 30 to 60 pieces. When a size sells out, it comes back next season, or not at all.
- Fit
- Sizes XS to 3XL as standard. Made to measure on request for any piece in the house, at no extra charge.
This season's cloth
- Ivory linen
- Slate merino
- Maroon silk
- Emerald chanderi
- Gold zari
The house
A small house, by design.
SHALINE is an independent, privately held label. We are a team of fewer than ten: designers, pattern cutters and the people who answer your messages. We intend to stay that size, because it lets us know every piece that leaves the studio.
We started with one question. Why should a woman need two wardrobes, from two different shops, that never speak to each other? Everything we make is our answer.
- Retail apparel & fashion
- Privately held
- A team of under ten

First look, every drop.
New arrivals, private sales and the occasional note from the studio. Never more than twice a month.
